Bill Moretz’s has a history of family farming. He grew up harvesting plants and raising animals for him and his family. His grandfather started the orchard in the 1930’s. Bill, a veteran, is the owner and manager or Mountain Moretz Orchard. The apples at the orchard have always been popular. The Moretz family would have customers drive all the way from Newburn, NC to buy bushels when Bill’s grandfather first started the farm. Bill says his most difficult item to raise is apricots, his best selling item are berries, and his favorite item to grow is garlic. Mountain Moretz Orchard uses organic pesticides prudently for a few products.
